Apply to NTU

Congrats to those who found this page, this gonna be a guidance for your application, wish this help ! :)

first of all, check the application date and the dateline.

make sure you have prepare for any documents or certificates that you think are important.

for NTU, certs for international competitions really matter, eg olympiad

if you dont have any of that level, get some national level certs will help :)

if your certs aren't in english, make sure you translate them by doing it on Words with your name and any other important details on your certs.

if you want to send yout docs by snail mail:

print them out together with photocopies of the certs and get certified by your school headmaster or senior assistants that count *you can ask for certification in english, they have that :)*

if you want to scan and do it with a click:

yup, scan the original certs and docs and just upload them will do.

after the posting, check at your 'check status link' to see whether your docs safely reach there or not, it takes maybe 5 days for snail mail or 2 days for post laju.

if you are to apply before you get yout STPM result, make sure you scan and upload it within 3 days after the result day. there is somewhere called ' upload actual result', you see it right?

you can apply for scholarships in the mean time, while financial aids for NTU are only available after your admission is confirmed.

and then, wait for the application outcome :)

some get their application result really fast, i'll call it the first batch.

they got the admission mail that informed for their successful admission and also their course.

some get mail that reject their application, maybe their result doesn't meet the bottom line of the school criteria.

some got nothing for mail, but they got this at their check status link:

We are pleased to inform you that you have been selected to attend an interview before a decision on your admission is made. You will be notified by the school concerned directly on the interview schedule
(yup, i am in this situation)


don't be panic when you are in the 3rd situation, that actually means that you stand a chance for your choice, maybe your first choice :)
after 2 or 3 days the school concerned will send you an email and your interview date and time will be told, for me it was a phone interview.
make sure you get prepare with all the possible questions that may be asked.
-tell me about yourself
-why do you apply NTU
-which field do you want to futher your study
-your strength and weakness
-why do you think we should accept you into the school
-why do you want do study this course
-politics
-why singapore


I myself had prepared for these question and wrote out 2 pages of the answer xD
one great benefit of phone interview is that, you can actually refer to the answer that you've prepared when the question is being asked
just try not to sound like you're reading instead of anwering
for me, my interview lasts for only 6 minutes and it's from nanyang business school which is my 1st choice
after the interview, what you can do is just wait for the result and hope for the best
normally they will send you an mail regards of your admission on the next day if you make it
or you may receive an mail on the night of the interview day for your second choice.
but if you have the interivew on friday, you got to wait over the weekend..
it's a long period for me . lol

well, i've received an mail that informed me i got the offer to study BUSINESS in NTU after that 
Greetings from the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore! I am very pleased to inform you that you have been selected for admission to the Nanyang Technological University in academic year 2011-12 for reading BUSINESS under the subsidized tuition fee category.
just gotta make sure you accept the offer at the link provided :)
what to do next is to apply for study loan, tuition loan, bursary and all things like that

for your information, i get 3.92 for STPM, 200 for MUET, B3 for gce-o
gce-o and muet are pretty important in their selection criteria
i have friends with 4.0 in stpm don't get their 1st choice due to the muet result
so do your best in the interview and impress the interviewer
yup, you can apply for business even if you are a science student in form 6, my friend get it :)

Finally i get the admission mail from NTU for reading Business
it's my first choice man, so unbelievable~
you know how much i want this after so long
thanks universe, thanks friends who helping me, giving me advices and supporting me all the way, and of course thanks to my family :)
guess i should write something about my story along the application process
to make a lil contribution back to the society
as i always wish to have something to guide me during that period, hope that my info could help anyone else out there who have great passion too :)

Just finished a big bowl of homemade Tomyam Mee, syok ! lol

Went to the new Tesco at Kulim just now, so big, i mean the carpark, fulled of cars

we have to park our car at the roadside for that reason

well, it do reminds me of the trip to Chiang Mai, Thailand

have i told anyone of you that we've been brought to Thailand's Carrefour during the trip?

it was really a weird experience, to see how is it different from Malaysia Carrefour perhaps

well, not much difference after all....

i am still waiting for the mail from ntu in the mean time

super duper hardworking recently, 

checking dictionary for any unknown words from john maxwell book

and you know what, my dictionary is book-type, not electronic one, 

as the big book got more feel i guess lol
